Eulogies as Abia State Government Holds Valedictory Service for Late. Ojo Maduekwe

The late Ojo Maduekwe has been described as a courageous and an unyielding advocate of equity and. Justice. These were some on the words of speakers who came to pay their last respects at a Valedictory Service held in his honour by the Abia State Government at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

On arrival, the body of the late Ojo Maduekwe was received by the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, accompanied by his Deputy and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the National and state levels.

The National Secretary, Caretaker Committee of the party,on behalf of the PDP family, Senator Ben Obi described the death of the deceased as painful and said the late Maduekwe was a champion of political discuss who served the country at different capacities meritoriously.

Pioneer Secretary of the PDP, Prof. Jerry Gana said Maduekwe was a man of tremendous learning, character, high discipline, refined mind and full of ideas. He revealed that the late Nigerian Ambassador worked tirelessly for a better Nigeria and was a role model to intending politicians.

Also speaking on behalf of the party, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Sen. Walid Jibrim described the late. Ojo Maduekwe as a man who lived am exemplary life worthy of emulation by the younger generation and said the party would miss him greatly especially his valuable contributions to the party.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe also spoke on behalf of the National Assembly members in the state and noted that the late former minister was a man who had no bitterness towards anyone and enduring lessons for all to live by.

The first son of the deceased, Umah Maduekwe said his late father was a great Abian,who was proud of his root and always represented Abia well wherever he was found. He thanked Abia State Government for Standing by the family and for the honour given to the father.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the day was set aside to reflect on the life and times of the late warrior and what the late Maduekwe stood for.

According to him,the late Maduekwe represents truth,courage, equity and justice. The Governor said Maduekwe stood in the gap for Abia and described him as the Ceasars of Abia State who was fearless and said the truth at all times. He prayed God grant the family of the deceased and the state government, the fortitude to bear the loss.
