Hon Mandela Obasi set to build perimeter fence for Abiriba police station

The Member Representing Ohafia North state constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly,  Hon Mandela Egwuronu Obasi announced his readiness to built a modern Security Perimeter fence round the Abiriba police station that seat on about 0.5 Acres of land to further boost the morale and ensure security of the officers and properties of the police command. 

In his proactive approach in delivering dividends of democracy to his constituents, the House member has commenced the construction of the said Perimeter fence as we gathered from on the spot assessment of the police station by our reporter.

The state legislator made this promise during his security consultative meeting with the Enachioken in council at the Palace of Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu IV(The Paramount Ruler of Abiriba Kingdom) on Monday 5th April,2021. He commisirated with the Abiriba community,  the police command and the families of the gentlemen police officers who were gruesomely murdered on the 23rd of March by armed hoodlums. 

To further the reach of his security intervention in Ohafia North state constituency,  Mandela held a closed door meeting with the hierarchy of Abiriba Police command comprising the DPO 
SP Gowon Ali and the DCO Nwagho Philip. 

Speaking after the meeting, the House member told newsmen that the meeting which was at his instance became necessary so as to identify possible ways to make security interventions in his constituency, 

"This meeting became necessary after the ugly incident of last month which expectedly has dampened the morale of the officers in this command,  so I set out to identify ways to support them and boost their morale once again to continue their good works in this community. After meeting with the Enachioken in council and now the DPO and his men, among all the agreed interventions needed, I have promised to start in few days time the construction of Mordern Perimeter fence round this station". 

In his response, the Enachioken of of Abiriba who is also the First Deputy Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu IV, thanked the House member and described him as a son in whom the community is well pleased following his timely interventions and readiness to serve. He prayed God to continue to guide and provide for the house member. 

In his response , the DPO of Abiriba police station,  SP Gowon Ali, commended the show of concern from the house member since the day of the incident.  He thanked him for raising the concern on the floor of the house which he believed helped to attract more attention of the government to their plight. He said that his men will be overwhelmingly encouraged to have the stationed fenced round as identified in the meeting and prayed God to provide and encourage the house member to fulfill his promise. 

The Ukpaghiri Of Amogudu, Eze Eme Uguru Ikpoka, The Effa of Agboji, Eze Benjamin, members of Enachioken in council, Ameke ward PDP Chairman,  Hon Dasuki Abraham , Ameke Ward PDP Woman leader, Madam Theresa were also present in the meeting.
