ASUU, ABSU pledges partnership with University Management

The leadership of ASUU, ABSU branch in a solidarity visit to the Vice Chancellor, Distinguished  Professor E. Uche Ikonne pledged to parntner the University Management in achieving its mandate.

The Chairperson, Dr. Victor Nkemdirim who spoke on behalf of the Union commended the Vice Chancellor for the unprecedented  achievements of his administration and prayed for greater accomplishments. They enumerated some of their challenges and solicited the assistance of the University Management.

In his response the Vice Chancellor reiterated the  determination of the University administration under his watch to sustain and further improve on the existing culture of academic excellence in the University.

He thanked the Union for their support and requested to be invited to their Congress for interaction as a foremost member of the Union.He called on the National body of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to address the discriminatory attitude towards matters of state Universities in the Union especially on welfare and representation on national issues.

He promised that the University Administration, which is welfare oriented, will address the welfare challenges of the Union within the limits of available resources.In a related development, SSANU ABSU in a solidarity visit extolled the uncommon leadership qualities and ingenuity of the Vice Chancellor describing him as a blessing to the University and our generation.

The Chairman, Ojo Ezichi Obasi on behalf of the Union pledged their partnership in achieving the goals and aspirations of the welfare oriented and inspirational administration of the Vice Chancellor Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne.
