Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on members of Nigerian Institute Of Public Relations(NIPR) to help checkmate the level of hate speeches by championing and emphasising on issues that unite rather than tear Nigeria apart.

Governor Ikpeazu who made the call when a delegation of NIPR led by their National President, Mallam Mukatar  Sirajo, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Umuahia reiterated that the call has become necessary as discordant statements that do not promote peaceful co-existence are threatening to derail the nation’s train.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, stated that the present administration in Abia State holds the institute in high esteem, recognizing their importance in enhancing the image of the State and hence have endeavoured to collaborate and partner with their members by engaging them in relevant State programs and urged them not to relent in highlighting the modest achievements of his administration to National and Global audience.

He reassured members of the  institute of Government’s assistance towards addressing the problem of quacks infiltrating their profession as well as carry them along in the scheme of things  in governance of the State and wished them a successful outing in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the National President NIPR Mallan Mukatar Sirajo who disclosed that they are in the State for the AGM of the State Chapter and elections, expressed appreciation to the State Government for the overwhelming support the institute enjoys from the administration and pledged their determination to always support and publicize the positive strides of the Ikpeazu administration.
