The All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) has reacted to the election of new State Working Committee by a factional group allegedly sponsored by the 2019 gubernatorial Candidate of the party, Dr. Alex Otti, describing such election as illegal.

In a statement signed by the State Organizing Secretary,Uche  Nwosu, the party dissociated itself from the purported election organized by the Abia First Organization and published on Facebook.

The statement reads: "It was brought to our notice this evening that our names -Hon Uche Mark Nwosu and Comrade Nwanaga Nnamdi were in the list of SWC that was produced by the Abia First Organization and published on Facebook.

"We wish to totally disassociate ourselves from such mischievous and cheap blackmail to rubbish our image.
We are products of the 23rd State congress that was dully conducted by the congress panel from the NWC and witnessed by INEC and members of the press both print and electronic media.

"We wish to state categorically that we are not part of any illegal arrangement to conduct a parallel congress outside that approved by NEC and conducted by the NWC.

"We paid for and completed our congress forms as directed by the NWC, and were successfully elected into our various positions which gave us the eligibility to attend the National Convention at Awka which we did.

"Consequently, while pledging our unalloyed and priceless loyalty to the National leadership of our great party, we call on the general public to disregard that publication and see the publication as false and misleading, as there is no other SWC except that produced on the 23rd. May 2019 congress that produced Rev. Augustine Ehiemere as the State Chairman.".
