Nigerian First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, through her Media Assistant, Ayo Adewuyi, commiserated with families of victims of last Friday’s guest house building-collapse at the premises of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) at Ikotun Egbe in Lagos.

Reading through her statement, she expressed sadness over the incident and sympathized with the families of the victims and the General Overseer of the church, Pastor T.B. Joshua. The First Lady prayed that God in his infinite mercy would grant the congregation the fortitude to bear the loss of the dead faithful. She also prayed that God will assuage the pains of those whose loved ones died in the accident.

She stated that it was a needless tragedy at this crucial time in the country’s history and for those who‎ had gone to the sanctuary to seek the face of the Lord. She said that she was moved by the news that majority of those who died were women and children
