Deltans have been promised that the issue of power outage will soon be a thing of the past in the state, sooner than they think. Victor Amechi Izegbu, a PDP Delta State Governorship Aspirant made this promise at a stakeholders' meeting held in Asaba which Factnewsonline attended on Friday. He said "there will be power summit immediately I assume office to ensure steady power supply within the first twelve months", adding that, if he fails, he will resign.

A native of Asaba, Oshimili South local government in the State,  Prof Izegbu, a professor of Urological Surgery told the gathering made up of representatives from the twenty-five local government areas that he intends to provide water and power as they are primary needs. He also intends to develop the Agricultural and Industrial sectors in the state through strategic Public-Private Initiatives.

When voted into office, the Surgeon intends to work towards improving the lives of Deltans through a Ten-Point Plan. This includes the provision of unprecedented level of security statewide guaranteeing safety of life and property. He also plans to make Delta State the only state in the Country that will be corruption free.

He revealed that he is already consulting with a very large security expert in South Africa on how to provide adequate security to Delta State.

Through what he termed Economic Transformation Council which will be independent of the State Executive Council, Izegbu intends to tackle poverty across the state. Also on his plan as a medical officer, is the provision of quality primary healthcare across the state with emphasis on maternal and child care. "I want to see a state where all Deltans are united in every way, irrespective of language or place of origin".

Prof Victor Izegbu hopes that Deltans will be willing for change and work with him towards making Delta a better place.

He advised his supporters to discountenance the rumours of a candidate being already chosen and anointed for the position even before the primaries. He assured nobody has the sole power to bring out a candidate, so, he is determined to go through the primaries with optimism.

Bemoaning his limited resources as a 'result of  having not stolen from the public coffers', Prof Victor Izegbu hopes that Deltans will be willing for change and work with him even when there will not be money to share for the elections.

He advised his supporters to discountenance the rumours of a candidate being already chosen and anointed for the position even before the primaries. He assured that even though other aspirants have allegedly stocked money from public funds for the elections, nobody has the sole power to bring out a candidate, so, he is determined to go through the primaries with optimism.
