In recognition of the need to place Abia at par with the global village, make information easily accessible, reading convenient and to deliver on his campaign promises,Governor Theodore Orji has built an e library for the people of the state at Umuahia, the state capital.

Factnewsonline reporter, alongside other online social media activists on a tour of some of the projects and review of achievements of His Excellency's administration discovered that the e-library which has the main purpose of meeting the educational needs of the people digitally is set to open the public within days. Mr. Obed Nnaji, Special Adviser to the Governor on e-governance emphasized that the facility is almost ready as all equipments required for its optimal functionality have been fully deployed. He stated that the facility can accomodate as much as 100 Abians at a time. Other facilities at the location include a fully digital Abia Emergency call centre with more than 30 operators working round the clock.

Other projects initiated by the present administration were found to be at different stages of completion, including the fully completed twin edifice Secretariat for civil servants in the State, a new gigantic structure at the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia (BCA) as well as the new ulra-modern High Court building. The visiting team verified all the projects.

A new Governor's Lodge which includes a Banquet hall, is at an advanced stage of completion with pace of work observed be very high considering the time it was started.
Also on ground is the Ohobo-Apara Housing Estate for civil servants and the Joint Accounts Allocation Committee House.
The estate which comprises of so many houses for different cadres, is being built by Governor Orji with the aim of ameliorating the sufferings of civil servants.

The facility named Abia State International Conference Centre is an architectural and technogical masterpiece is rated as second to non in the South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

The Ubani Ibeku industrial market visited by the team was full of activities as traders at the market seem to have fully settled down for business, while the timber market relocated from Ohobo by the present administration is also bubbling with business activities.
However,it was a mixture of feelings as some traders at the Ubani Ibeku Industrial market who spoke to factnewsonline had diverse opinions.
In a chat with factnewsonline,a trader who spoke on conditions of annonymity appreciated the state government for its efforts at providing a conducive environment and parking space for them.
Mr. Daniel Azuonye, who lamented that some of the traders couldn't rent a shop because of its high rate, also decried the poor condition of roads from Olokoro to the market. Other complains include low patronage and distance.

Other projects inspected are, the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Dialysis Centre in Umuahia where the State Government in partnership with Mecure Health Care Limited, procured six Dialyzers for the Dialysis Section.
Taking the team round the facility which is already in use, the Diagnostic Imaging Consultant, Chima Chukwu said one of the machines is dedicated to HIV/AIDS patients while another is particular to patients with Hepatitis. The remaining four are for patients with regular blood. "We do this to avoid contaminating the blood of our patients with that which has been compromised",Chukwu addded.
Chukwu however, revealed that with the help of the partners, patients are referred to hospitals in India when there is absolute need for kidney transplant. According to him, the government subsidized the cost of dialysis at Twenty-three thousand naira (N23,000) per session against about Forty-five thousand naira (N45,000) which is the actual cost. The  Specialist hospital has other centres for Eye, Ear-Nose-Throat etc

The team observed that most of the roads in and around Umuahia metropolis were in good condition and the city maintains a clean look.
