Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has showered encomiums on Hon Nnenna Elendu Ukeje popularly known as Ada Bende, Lawmaker who represented Bende Federal Constituency for 12 years, between 2007 and 2019, at the National Assembly, describing her as "a political giant who can not be wished away by any serious institution".

The Speaker stated this today during the Grand Civic Reception held in honour of the former Chairperson House Committee on Donor Agencies and Development Partners by the Bende Youth Forum in conjunction with Abia Development Initiative, at Bende Local Government Stadium in Bende.

The Speaker who alluded the loss of Abia North to the opposition party in the State at the 2019 general elections to internal issues that made Hon Ukeje recoil into her shell expressed confidence that with her full return and participation in the PDP affairs of the District, PDP was going to get bigger, better and stronger.

He urged her to lead the charge at bringing back other members who might have left the party aggrieved and in solidarity with her because of the situation of the past as the party makes amends for the future.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji recalled that despite all her grievances against the party, Hon Ukeje never castigated the Governor nor publicly criticised the party as a whole saying that was the hallmark of a strong and virtuous woman in control of situations.

Responding to the different speeches made on the day including those of the Governor, and other critical stakeholders, Hon Ukeje said she was happy to be back home and that she was committed to leading the rebuilding of the PDP in Bende in particular, Abia North and Abia State in general and said she would do everything to return the constituency to PDP.

The Deputy Chairman of Bende Local Government Area, Hon Promise Uzoma Okoro who was the Chairman of the planning committee that organised the event, read the citation of Hon Ukeje which many have described as very rich.
