Land-grabbers warned to steer clear of Ohafia LGA

It has come to the notice of the Executive Chairman of Ohafia Local Government, Dr. Okorafor Ukiwe that some people parading themselves as agents of the federal ministry of lands and housing, and representatives of Ebem community in Ohafia are encroaching on land within and belonging to Ohafia LGA, allocating and selling same land to unsuspecting public.
The chairman has therefore directed the impoundment of all sand and gravel deposited within the said portion of land and warns intruders from further encroachment to avoid arrest and prosecution.
In another development, the chairman has directed the setup of a panel to investigate circumstances surrounding:
1. the conversion of the council staff restaurant to a hotel within council premises.
2. The illegal erection of a one storey block of shops on council property
3. The lease of council land as a truck park within council premises.
Members of the panel will be made public soon.
