Abia Speaker Mourns Eze Enweremmadu, Says His Death has Created a Huge Vacuum

Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has described as a monumental loss to Ngwa Land in particular and Abia State in general, the death of Eze Ukwu Bernard O. Enweremmadu the Traditional Head of Ngwa Land, on January 17, 2021.

In a statement by the Speaker and made available to the media, he described Eze Ukwu Enweremmadu as "a people-friendly Traditional Ruler, meticulous Custodian of the rich Ngwa Culture and a highly principled family man who served his people selflessly", saying "his death has left a huge vacuum not only in the Traditional Institution of Abia State but also in her over all progress as a people".

While condoling with the family through the son, former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and crown prince, Rt Hon Prince C.O. Enweremmadu, the Speaker urged them to take solace in God who alone gives and takes at his own time, saying the Late Traditional Ruler lived a good life. He further urged the family to do everything in their power to protect the good legacies left behind by their father as a way of honouring his memory.

"Not just I but the entire 7th Abia State House of Assembly as an institution are with you in these trying times. As a former Speaker that you are, we shall play our roles as required in the final journey of our father", the Speaker said.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji then prayed "God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grant the soul of Eze Ukwu Enweremmadu eternal rest.
