The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji was presented with an award of Excellence by Abia State Indigenes resident in Kano State.
While presenting the Award to the Speaker, President General of the Community, Chief Okoro K. Okwara said the Association of Abians in far away Kano State came together to honour the Speaker with the Award because of the giant strides, excellent and robust performance of the Legislative Arm of Government under his watch as Speaker.
"We acknowledge the time and support you and other legislators have invested in ensuring peace, progress and prosperity in the State, through quality legislations and constituency projects, and generally lifting the people's standard of living", he said.
Meanwhile, the Community also presented the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief Theodore Ahamefule Orji CON with a prestigious Award of Recognition for his quality representation of the people at the National Assembly and touching the lives of the people through scholarship awards, building of schools and health centres, provision of transformers to communities among other constituency projects he has embarked upon.
They further extolled him for sponsoring people oriented bills in the National Assembly and for his decision to retire from politics in 2023 and support the younger ones.
The Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Mazi Kenneth Ezeigbo represented both Senator T.A. Orji and Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji and received the Awards on their behalf.
