Amaekpu/Okagwe crisis: Ohafia Council Boss sues for peace 

The Executive chairman of Ohafia Local Government Council, Dr Okorafor Ukiwe has called for peace between the Okagwe and Amaekpu communities of Ohafia . This call was made during a visit to HRH Eze Achi Ukoji and HRH Eze Dr. Awa Nwankwo, the traditional rulers of Okagwe and Amaekpu respectively, following the destruction of properties in both communities by warring youths.

He urged the traditional rulers to reign over their youths as the council continues to make positive efforts at bringing lasting peace to the people of the Council.

In their individual response, both traditional rulers commended the Council boss for being proactive, an attribute which they described as a mark of responsive leadership. They promised to ensure no further attack nor retaliatory attack is recorded. 

Present at the meetings, were the deputy chairman of the council, Hon Samuel Kalu Uduma, the chairman of Ohafia Council of Chiefs HRH Eze Ojike and representatives of all security formations in the LGA.
