Survival fund: Application is free, report anyone requesting for fee - Chinenye Nwogu

The Abia State Focal person on social investment, Mr. Chinenye Nwogu, has called on the general public to report anyone charging a fee for Survival fund application.

 

Nwogu in a Press statement sighted by Factnewsonline, disclosed that law enforcement agencies have been notified and are on the lookout for criminal elements engaged in such act.

 

He wrote: 

 

"This is to inform the general public especially Abians that the Federal Government Survival Fund Programme aimed at supporting several small business owners, transporters and artisans affected by the Covid 19 pandemic is accessed free of charge.

 

 "Please feel free to report directly to me any request for any form of fee by anybody under any guise. 

 

"We understand that some unscrupulous individuals are trying to scam unsuspecting members of the public claiming all kinds of things.  

 

"As always all Social Investment Programmes and other programmes alike comes at no cost to the beneficaries and in Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has made adequate provisions to ensure proper logistics and administrative machinery to deliver these programmes at no extra burden to the citizens of the state. 

 

"Law enforcement agents have been properly briefed and are on the lookout for criminals who will want to take advantage of innocent Abians. "
