Abiriba women pay courtesy call on Ohafia Council boss

Abiriba women under the aegis of the Abiriba Women Cultural Organization (AWCO) on Sunday, paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Chairman of Ohafia  Local Government, Dr. Okorafor Ukiwe at his Abiriba residence.

The visit was to congratulate him on his emergence as the council boss in the just concluded Local Government poll conducted by ABSIEC. 

In his remarks, Dr. Ukiwe commended them for their show of support and committment to community development.

As an illustrious Abiriba son, the Chairman pledged to support AWCO and other women organisations in line with the vision of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and his amiable wife Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, on empowering women across the state, and encouraging their participation in politics and economic development.

 He added that his administration would create enabling environment and equal opportunity for women to thrive. 

AWCO in their reaction, assured the Chairman of their unwavering support, stating that they are partners in progress in the task of building a progressive council.
