Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, today condoled with Hon Cokey Nwachukwu, the Deputy Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, over the death of his father.

The Speaker who visited the youthful Deputy Chairman during the funeral of his father described the situation as both a sad one and a happy one.

"I am here to condole with you and your family over the death of your father. The loss of a loved one is always a painful experience but I know that God will comfort you and give you all the fortitude to bear the loss and grant his soul eternal rest.

"I am sure that looking down from above, your father must be very proud of you and what you have been able to achieve as a young man. That was why I said that my coming here is in dual capacity: one, to console you, and, two, to rejoice with you on your emergence as the brand new Deputy Chairman of Ikwuano LGA. That was not a mean feat.

"You must however not allow it to get into your head. As a young man, you must remain respectful and loyal to your elders and leaders. You must support and cooperate with your Chairman to ensure your tenure leaves a better legacy for the people of Ikwuano LGA", the Speaker concluded.
