My administration is committed to strengthening security architecture in Abia - Ikpeazu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has restated the commitment of his administration to the strengthening of the security architecture in the State through ensuring an enduring synergy between the State Government and all Security Agencies in the State.

The Governor said this today at the Governor's Lodge Aba while receiving in audience, the 21st Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Abia State Command, S O Ngini who came to pay a courtesy call on the Governor.

The Governor, while welcoming the new Comptroller to the State assured him of the readiness of his administration to cooperate with all federal agencies in the State, moreso when such agencies work for the security of our people.

According to the Governor, the Abia State Command of the Immigration Service is here to work for the benefit of Abians and as such, the command will continue to receive the support and cooperation of the State Government. He also challenged the Comptroller to use his good offices to ensure that the drive for foreign investors in the State receive adequate support from the State Command through the expeditious processing of all legitimate requests for residence permits and other forms of applications from foreigners. 

He assured the Comptroller that by virtue of his office, he should be a part of the State Security Committee going forward and promised to give their request for logistics support serious consideration.

Earlier the State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Samuel O Ngini told the Governor that he came to formally report to the Governor and inform him of his resumption of duties as the 21st Comptroller of Immigration in the State.
He thanked the Governor for the support the State Command has enjoyed over the years from his administration and assured him that the State Command will support the State Government especially in the areas of security with special reference to the movement of foreigners and aliens.
The Comptroller made a strong case for the inclusion of the State Command of the Immigration Service to be incorporated into the State Security Council on account of the special nature of their activities.

Mr Ngini is a very experienced Immigration Officer who has held several command positions in the Service in the over 20 years in the Service. He hails from Anambra State.
