I will Continue to Preach the Gospel of Youths and Good Governance - Abia Speaker

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has said he will continue to preach the gospel in favour of youths and good governance, saying that the youths remain a formidable wing of progress in the society.

Speaking on Sunday at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Ugwumchara, in Umuahia North Local Government Area during their 2020 Annual  Youth Harvest and Bazaar, Rt Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji thanked the Church for their faith in God and urged them to continue to pray for be the Government of Abia State.

The Speaker who was the Chief Harvester at the Harvest tagged "Harvest of Abundant Grace" said he will continue to attend to the need and aspirations of youths as much as he can.

"I am very pleased to be in the midst of children of God this morning. If you watch, we are not politicians that attend Church Services only during Campaigns. We do that Everytime to celebrate God and His people. It is part of our lives.

"I am very pleased once again to attend Mass in this Parish which is also in my Constituency, that was why I earlier ensured the renovation of the school in this Church premises", he said.

Speaking further, the Speaker emphasised that the Catholic Church remains one of the major beneficiaries of his Constituency Projects and Empowerment.

He appreciated the Parish Priest of St Michael's, Ugwunchara, for showing appreciation when he renovated the School in their premises, promising to do even more.

Continuing, he said, "I am committed to leave a mark for my Constituency which is Umuahia Central".

The Speaker who was entertained by some young football enthusiasts, promised to pay the school fees of the young lads for the next two years, an announcement which drew a long and resounding applause from parishioners present.

The officiating priest thereafter prayed for the Speaker and Members of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly.
