Excitement in Umuahia and Aba as Prestige Ossy picks House of Reps nomination form

Umuahia, the capital of Abia state, was agog yesterday as popular Aba business man and philanthropist, RTN Prestige Ossy, picked PDP nomination form to run for Aba (North/South) Federal constituency in the National Assembly. Hundreds of his supporters including nollywood practitioners besieged the state capital as early as 10am yesterday with a long convoy of over 100 vehicles and dance troupes, including popular Ohafia war dance group.
At the PDP secretariat along Finbarr's Road Umuahia, the Party Chairman, Chief Emma Nwaka, expressed joy at the quality of the candidate and wished him well in his quest to represent Aba people at Abuja. He also encouraged him and all PDP aspirants in the state to make their electioneering campaigns issue based and eschew mudslinging and subterfuge. Also the Secretary of PDP in the state, Barr Charles Eseonu, welcomed the aspirant to the secretariat and expressed happiness that a leader of his caliber answered the call to serve his people.
On arrival at Aba, thousands of Aba residents turned up at Prestige campaign headquarters located at Park road by Georges street to welcome the candidate and celebrate his entry into the race. He presented them with the nomination form which was obtained after payment of N2.5m to PDP national secretariat and N700,000 to the state secretariat. The celebration continued till very late in the night with all types of music and dances.
Members of the public interviewed by our reporters at Aba recounted how Ossy Prestige through his Foundation empowered hundreds of Aba residents as well as gave scholarships in various sums to their children. He was said to have maintained an open door to the public and gave unrivalled attention and listening ears to those who come to him for assistance. The residents vowed to ensure his victory at the polls and urged PDP delegates in the constituency to ensure his victory at the primaries.

Hon. Rtn. Prestige Ossy hails from the Agboji Community of Abiriba in Ohafia L.G.A of Abia State.
He holds a B.sc degree in Government and Public Administration from the Abia State University, Uturu Okigwe, an M.BA in Shipping and Logistics from the Lloyds Maritime Academy London, United Kingdom, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from the Commonwealth University in Belize, South America amongst other academic qualifications.
Hon. Rtn. Prestige Ossy is a Seasoned Customs Broker, Maritime Services Provider, Shipping Consultant and Importer of diverse Merchandise.
His business has been so diversified that it transverses all the sectors of the Nigerian Economy making him a major Employer of Labour.
Hon. Rtn. Prestige Ossy (Major Donor) was the Treasurer of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents ANLCA, Onne Seaport Chapter, 2002, its Secretary 2003 – 2008 and Chairman 2008 – 2014.
He is the 1st Deputy President of the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) and also a Council Member of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA)
Hon. Rtn. Prestige Ossy is an Elite member of the Rotary International, renowned for its Global Humanitarian outreach and has risen to become a Privileged 2nd Level Major Donor of the Organization having donated well over Twenty Five Thousand U.S Dollars ($25,000) to the cause of Charity. He was President of Rotary Club of Eziukwu Aba 2007/2008 and Assistant Governor of Rotary District 9140, 2009/2010.

For years running, Hon. Rtn. Ossy Prestige conducts Free Medical Outreach Program for his Abiriba Community every end of the December month in his country home in Abiriba and had personally borne the cost of all the referral cases from the Outreach even beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Hon. Rtn. Prestige Ossy is a member of the Okezie Age Grade of Abiriba that performed her statutory Igwa-Mang Ceremony in 2010. For his outstanding services to the Age Grade and his unwavering commitment to the Peace and Unity of the Abiriba Kingdom, he received a Special Recognition Award for Distinguished Accomplishments in Community Service from the Enachioken of Abiriba Kingdom, HRM Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu IV.
He belongs to the great Okeziri Otu-Enyi League of Friends of Abiriba and sits on its Board as a Trustee.
His Hobbies include Reading, Travelling and Adventures.
