The Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, has reacted to the statement credited to Alex Otti, the 2015 and 2019 Governorship candidate who recently announced his exit from the party.

Otti, in a recent interview, disclosed why he left APGA. He accused the leadership of the party of running a Ponzi scheme which resulted in their poor performance during the 2019 elections.

Okogbuo while reacting to the statement in a radio interview monitored by FACTNEWS in umuahia, stated that Otti thrives on lies and propaganda. He went on to describe Otti as a ‘Baby politician’ who has no political credentials except for jumping from one party to another for his selfish interest.

“As much as possible, APGA and its leadership would want to avoid political child shows, but for the interest of our teeming supporters, Alex and his few followers are baby politicians whose names cannot be found in any political record because they have no political credentials and thrive on unsubstantiated propaganda. Alex Otti is brutally wounded. He is not in the position to discuss the leadership of the party because he doesn’t understand politics.

“I have worked closely with Alex Otti, he does not have political credentials. He came up with Abia first that wanted to disintegrate the party. He did everything to take over the party but we refused him. We knew he would sell the party. He attempted it with PDP. Information was that PDP knew who he is, that’s why they didn’t give him ticket which was why he left PDP for APGA.

“Since he declared his intention to leave APGA, a lot of Abia politicians have been calling us to confirm if he has left so they can join the party.

Okogbuo added that Otti’s poor outing in the last election was because the glory of God and that of Abians have left him.

“Do you know why Otti performed poorly in 2019? It is because the glory of Abians departed from him and the glory of God departed from him. Nobody supported him, he knew it was an eminent failure as far as Abia politics is concerned.”

Meanwhile, Otti is yet to make public his new party, but it was gathered that he would most likely settle with the All Progressive congress(APC), where he intends to contest the 2023 governorship election in Abia.
