Abia Speaker's Visit to OUK and the Misfortune of Mischief Makers

The recent visit of the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, to the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as noble as it was, seems to have been twisted by some misguided political minions whose stock in trade is to continue to stoke enmity among political leaders of our great State for their own selfish interests.

Surely, the negative impression put out there by mischief makers concerning the visit is only the figment of their own imagination, with their unrelenting desire to achieve their pecuniary and parochial goals which thrive only in an atmosphere of perpetual political enmity in the State.

It is most unfortunate that merchants of malice have chosen to ignore the many demonstration of support and cooperation of Mr Speaker to our Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, and our great Party, the PDP, and are focusing on a visit he embarked on just like many other Abia leaders did.

In the light of the above, if such a visit is considered as anti-party in some ill-informed quarters demanding that Mr Speaker steps down, then all other political office holders of Abia origin who have visited and or shown solidarity to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in this period including the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Theodore A. Orji, Hon Uko Nkole, Hon Darlington Nwokocha, Hon Samuel Onuigbo et al, should equally step down.

Lastly, it is no longer news that Mr Speaker has always been in the forefront of uniting political leaders of the State to achieve the common goal of peace, progress and prosperity for Abia as epitomised by the hosting of Federal Lawmakers of Abia origin at the State Assembly Chambers on October 30, 2019, where it was agreed that all political leaders need to close ranks and work together for the good of Abia State irrespective of  political affiliation.

Sadly, political neophytes do not even know that making peace with perceived political rivals help to shield our Governor from distractions and help him focus more on delivering democracy dividends to our people.
