COVID-19: Abia Lawmaker Distributes second phase of palliative food Items and cash to constituents

The House member representing Ohafia North State Constituency at the Abia state house of Assembly, Hon Mandela Egwuronu Obasi has made true his promise of distributing second phase of COVID-19 palliative food items to his constituents.

The House member had on 3rd of April, 2020, when he distributed the first sets of palliative food items and cash, promised his constituents that he will be coming from time to time to support them with relief materials to cushion the excruciating effect of the statewide lockdown.

Speaking, the House member advised the people represented by the Eze Ogo of the communities in Ohafia North state constituency to embrace agriculture which the people are known for and promised to provide agricultural support for the farmers this farming season.

He also advised on the need to adhere to all the directives given by the government and NCDC as regards COVID-19 which includes regular washing of hand with soap on a running tap, use of alcohol based hand sanitizer, wearing of face mask, maintaining social distancing and avoiding any form of gathering.

The items distributed includes, 400 cartons of Indomie noodles, 44 bags of 50kg rice, 1000 pieces of face mask and cash of N1,000,000 (One Million naira)
Eight hundred thousand naira was shared among the communities in Ohafia North state constituency, while two hundred thousand was shared among selected indigent women by the House member.

Responding on behalf of the Eze Ogos in Abiriba, HRH Eze U.O. Ukiwo, The Alioke Ihungwu Abiriba, expressed gratitude to the House member for always remembering his people even before this time and prayed God to replenish his pocket and give him more political and business success.

Contributing, Apostle Ogbu Kalu obasi Ezeogo Eluhu Nkporo and the Chairman Nkporo council of Eze ogos, thanked the House member for the food items and cash, and most especially for admonishing them on the need to embrace agriculture as a means of livelihood and also promising to provide agricultural support to farmers during this farming season.

The House member was joined by Chief Ndubisi Eme, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport Matters,Hon Nelly Onwuka, former Deputy TC chairman Ohafia LGA, Hon Okoro Okereke, Hon Okoro Agha, Hon Abraham Urum, PDP Chairman of Ameke ward and other PDP stakeholders in Ohafia north.
