ABSU Community Hails Gov Ikpeazu's Magnanimity In Supporting Online Tutorials For Students

A cross section of Staff and Students of Abia State University has commended the Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D for his Magnanimity in promising to assist any Tertiary Institution in the State which engages on online tutorial for their students with the sum of N10million in support of the project.


Recall that sequel to the postponement of the 1st Semester 2019/2020 Examinations of the University due to have commenced today, Monday, 23rd March, 2020 and the directive that students should vacate the University Campuses by Sunday, 22nd March due to recent global development, the Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D directed Lecturers of the University to engage students on online tutorials for the period of the vacation.


The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne described Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as a digital Governor and a pragmatic Scholar-in-Governance whose love for Education and development of the youth is unprecedented.


The Vice-Chancellor therefore advised the  Students to ensure that their laptops, tablets and other electronic gadgets are put online to participate in this Programme.


The Vice-Chancellor, further directs  all students of the University to restrict their  movements during the period of this vacation and adhere to the guidelines of the World Health Specifications on COVID-19 to be safe from any form of contamination.
