Abia Central: Court reserves judgement on T.A Orji, Nkechi Nwogu's case to Sept. 10

The  Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe led Panel handling the National and State Assembly Election petitions in Abia State has fixed Tenth of September, for judegment in the matter between All Progressive Congress  APC Senatorial  Candidate for Abia Central District, Nkechi Nwogu, and the incumbent Senator Theodore Orji of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

This followed  the adoption of written addresses by all parties involved in the matter on Monday.

Adopting her address, the petitioner through her counsel, Perfect Okorie   told the panel that the  February 23  poll which returned Theodore Orji  as senator representing Abia Central District was marred with gross electoral misconduct, hence  should be cancelled  and a  fresh election ordered.


The counsel for  the first respondent,  Bode Olanipekun  however  urged the the three man panel to discontenance the petitioner's plea for lacking in merit,  stating that the said election substantially complied  with the electoral laws.
