Abia govt sets up a national ID card Registration mobilization committee

Abia State Government has set up a committee to Mobilize Abians for the National Identity Card Registration in the state.

Inaugurating the committee that will see to the Mobilization of Abians for the National Identity cards registration which will assist the state government in getting the exact number of citizens who are either schooling, doing businesses, working or engaged in any other area in the state, the state Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu urged the committee members who are majorly the LGAs Transition Chairmen to take the exercise very seriously.

He stated that usefulness of National Identity Cards to Abians and the Abia State government should serve a motivation to the members of the committee in the discharge of their assignment.

It will be recalled that the State Coordinator of National Identity Management Commission recently paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Abia state and pleaded with the state government to please partner with them on service delivery with the Governor promising to set up a committee to help the Commission do a thorough job in the state as regard to the enrollment of Abians in the exercise.

The committee members includes the TC Chairmen of the 17 LGA of the state and other respected stakeholders.
