The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia yesterday, August 8, heard a motion filed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to strike out it's name from the petition filed by Alex Otti, the former Governorship Candidate of APGA in the last general elections in Abia State.

It should be recalled that APGA suspended Alex Otti from the party on the grounds of his anti party activities, which includes his joining APGA as a party in his petition at the tribunal without the knowledge, consent and or approval of the party leadership either in the state led by Rev. Augustine Ehiemere or in the National.

When the motion was called up this morning, counsel for the Applicants (APGA) Ukpai Ukairo Esq. argued the motion and prayed the court to strike out the name of his client, APGA from the petition. According to Ukairo, APGA has the constitutional right to withdraw from the petition.

The tribunal after hearing both parties adjourned for ruling on the motion and informed the parties that a date for the ruling will be communicated.

In court today for APGA are the following: State Legal Adviser(Barr. Chukwuemeka Nwokoro), The state secretary (Elder Sunday Onukwubiri), the state Zonal Chairman, South(Ambassador Chigorom Okiyi), the State Youth Leader(Comrade Henry Nwoha). Signed Bar Chukwuemeka Nwokoro
