The immediate past commissioner for Industry in Abia state, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh has charged the management of Abia state environmental protection Agency(ASEPA) to look inward and convert the refuse dump littered all over umuahia the capital city into wealth.

Chief Ikoh stated this while expressing the worrisome state of refuse in umuahia the capital city of Abia state.

“ it shouldn't be how much we get from the government on a monthly basis rather it should be how much can we generate through recycling of  this refuse, through refuse recycling we can create jobs for our youths, so talking about what government gives the agency every month is a wrong impression rather it should be how much can we generate from waste management” he concluded.

On the issue of the current review of some governmental agency and parastatals going on in the state by the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, the former commissioner stated that it is in line with the democratic process of the country.

” Abia state house of Assembly been a separate arm of government whose responsibility is to check and balance the activities of the state Government have the right to look into government agencies and how it is been run”.
