ASEPA GM lied to cover his ineptitude – Cosmos Ndukwe

Immediate past Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and former General Manager of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Rt. Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, has reacted to a claim made by the embattled incumbent General Manager of the Agency, Okechukwu Apugo, challenging him to produce evidence of the two hundred million he claimed the former was receiving monthly.
Apugo had in a statement disclosed that his non-performance as GM of the Agency was due to lack of adequate funding by the state government. He added that he only gets N22m subvention monthly, claiming that his predecessors, particularly, Cosmos got N200m as subvention.
Reacting to the claim, Cosmos said he got a total of N20m as subvention monthly which is less than what Apugo gets. Reeling out his achievements, Cosmos said: “I served the agency for whooping 7years, on subvention not exceeding 6.5 and 13.5m respectively for the two zones (Aba and Umuahia) under my command as GM.
“If the subsequent officers where wise enough they would have built on legacies I left behind or ask questions how I survived leaving behind more than 35 compactor trucks, 14 Tippers, Staff Buses, Bulldozers, and Low bird truck, which I doubt if they are still in existence.
“Not to mention the ASEPA administrative block I started and finished from ground zero to painting before I was promoted to Chief of Staff not sacked.
Cosmos further challenged Apugo who only manages Umuahia zone of the agency to produce the document stating where he received N200m monthly subvention
“if you guys can produce any release having N200m monthly cleaning payment for ASEPA I will personally pay the person 1m, if not for official secret oath I would have published releases I got as GM which does not exceed 6.5m for Umuahia zone and 13.5m for Aba zone,” he said.
He further threatened legal actions should the falsehood against him continue.
“We don’t celebrate excellence in this state. Am still alive and ready for a debate on any Media platform ASEPA funding records is within reach, stop this media trail or I will seek judicial action, well am not even sure if you mearnt another GM by name chief Cosmos Ndume which am not,” Cosmos added
FACTNEWS recalls that Apugo was recently summoned to the State House of Assembjy to explain why his agency has colossally failed to keep Umuahia clean.
