Yobe North lawmaker, Senator Ahmed Lawan, has emerged the President of the ninth Senate with 79 votes defeating Ali Ndume of Borno-South senatorial district who polled less than 28 votes.
On the otherhand, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, thrased Ike Ekweremadu to become the Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate. DSP Omo-Agege won with 68 out of 107 votes.
