Imo APC threatens to drag Oshiomhole to court for contempt

The State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State on Thursday threatened to institute a contempt case against the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The state chairman of the party, Daniel Nwafor, said this while addressing journalists at the APC secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.

Nwafor said Oshiomhole, the party’s National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee had no right to “arbitrarily dissolve the APC leadership in Imo State.”

While claiming that Oshiomhole is on a mission to destroy APC in the South East, the state party chairman urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Progressives Governors Forum to call the national chairman to other.

Nwafor said, “We are not losing sleep over the reckless prounciation of Adams Oshiomhole that he has arbitrarily, without respect for the rule of law, dissolved the APC leaderships in Imo State.”

He said Oshiomhole’s action was against the judgment of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory delivered on August 14, 2018, which gave an order of perpetual injunction “against removing, substituting, replacing, suspending or interfering with the tenure of the APC leadership in Imo State.”

He added, “The illegal constitution of Imo APC so-called caretaker committee is null and void unless Oshiomhole is above the laws of this country.

“We are going to court to ask for the interpretation of his actions. As far as we concerned, his actions are contemptuous.

“Oshiomhole is on a mission to make the APC a forgotten issue in Imo State, but we will not allow him. Though Senator Hope Uzodinma is not a member of APC, we have resolved to work for him and all the  APC candidates in Imo State.”
