President Muhammadu Buhari will, on Friday, embark on a 10-day working holiday to London, United Kingdom (UK).

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement yesterday, said the President has already written to the National Assembly on his planned trip.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will carry out the duty of the President in acting capacity during the period of his absence.

According to Adesina, “In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, a letter has been transmitted to the President of the Senate, and the Speaker, House of Representatives to that effect.

“While the President is on vacation, the Vice President will be in acting capacity as President.

“President Buhari will be in London for the holiday,” Adesina added.

The last time President Buhari was in London was in May this year. He had a stopover in the UK after an official trip to the United States of America where he met with President Donald Trump.

Buhari, during the stopover in London, sought the attention of his doctors before returning to the country.

It is uncertain whether the President will again meet with the doctors during the 10-day holiday.

Meanwhile, President Buhari, yesterday, visited his proposed campaign office in Abuja for the 2019 presidential election.

The President had, on April 9th, announced to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that he would be seeking re-election for another four years.

Adesina, in a statement, said on Buhari’s entourage to the proposed office were his Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and other senior government officials.

The President and his delegation were received by the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

The minister took the President round the newly refurbished structure.

Adesina, in the statement, said President Buhari expressed satisfaction with the facelift, and thanked all those who worked on giving the office a befitting look.
