Boko Haram: Adamawa University shut indefinitely

In concern to lives and security of students in Adamawa State, its University at Mubi has been shut over the recent takeover by Boko- Haram, the important town of Gulak.  Authorities of the state-owned University announced the indefinite closure of the institution due to fear of possible attack from insurgents.

The statement was made by the acting Registrar of the institution, Malam Hassan Tanko, in Yola on Sunday.

In a statement, Tanko said the university was closed indefinitely for security reasons, directing students to go home. Some students of the university, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that they were stranded due to residents rush to leave the town.

 One of the students who identified himself simply as Ali said many commuters were now stranded in the commercial border town due to lack of vehicles.
