Revelations have come up on the people who betrayed and implicated the former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, leading to his incarceration to Southwark prison.

The former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark revealed that it was late Rt. Hon Young Igbhrude and late Senator Pius Ewherido who were in the Delta State House of Assembly, who came to him with documents on the fictitious supplementary budget prepared by Chief Ibori. He was speaking on Monday when a PDP Governorship Aspirant, Obaisi (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege paid him a consultative visit at his Kiagbodo home.

Chief Clark said the two former lawmakers said they'll strongly defend their allegations. Knowing the enormity of the issue, he was prompted to take them to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who was then the President. According to him, the papers were handed over to the then EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu. "Ribadu then came and took the papers and handed them over to the present Chairman Lamorde who was then Director of Operations in Lagos for investigations".

The Ijaw leader who is also a leader in the ruling  People's Democratic Party (PDP)  said Ribadu's laxity over the investigation that made him confront him on February 13, 2007. "Ribadu, your father was a good man in Yola, your sister was Chairman of a Local Government. She did very well and was given an award. Have you changed?". He explained that this was the reason he attacked Ribadu last week.

According to Chief Clark, the former EFCC boss thought he would be used as a Governorship candidate in Adamawa State. This led to the disqualification of the Speaker who was the Acting Governor by the Ibrahim Mantu led committee.

On the rumours of anointing a particular candidate for Delta Governorship in 2015. He debunked all allegations and made it categorically clear that neither him nor the incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan can anoint or impose any candidate on the PDP or Deltans. He also revealed that his support for any candidate will depend on when and what decision President Goodluck Jonathan takes on a second tenure for presidency.

He condemned in strong terms "those who gather and even the state lawmakers who say the Governor has anointed a candidate". "Delta State is not for one person or for charlatans to govern".

Presenting his mission to chief Edwin Clark, the Aspirant, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege reiterated his determination to ensure security of lives and properties of Deltans through the establishment of the Community Security Marshals who will provide intelligence information to security operatives.

He also promised to diversify the economy of the oil rich state in line with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan's Delta Beyond Oil vision  into agriculture, agro-based industries, manufacturing, tourism and revitalisation of dead and ailing industries. Omo-Agege who plans to govern on a pan Delta agenda when voted in as Governor in 2015 was encouraged by Chief Clark to continue with his quest. " I give you my blessings. Go and continue with the fight" Clark said
