Abia CP advise Parents to monitor their Children's activities

Abia State Police Commissioner, Adeleye Oyebade has urged parents to be watchful and monitor the activities of their children especially during the festive season. This is against the backdrop of an upsurge in child theft in the state. 

Marvelous Hart, a four year old baby was kidnapped by Rowland Egbe, a family friend and neigbhbour of his innocent parents.

 

According to the suspect, who is yet to receive a balance payment of one hundred and fifty thousand naira by one Comfort Ogbonnaya of No 69b Osusu Road, Aba, small Marvelous was attracted with gala and mineral.

 

Luck ran out on him when the buyer said he needed a fair complexioned male child, rather than a dark one. They agreed to sell the baby to another person, who would in turn pay them and help in augmenting for the payment of the soon to be abducted male child.

They were apprehended by men of the State Anti-Robbery Squard at Obehie, in Ukwa East Local Government Area of the state, following a tip off.

Rowland Egbe, confessed to the crime and said this has been his stock in trade for some time now.

 

 

The parents of Marvelous were elated at the reunion with their son.

 

 

The Commissioner of Police, Adeleye Oyebade enjoined parents to always be watchful of the company they keep.

 

The Command also paraded some suspects involved in car theft, robbery and kidnapping.

 

Some locally made pistols and ammunition were recovered from them.
