The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)  Abia State Chapter has released names of successful candidates for the Local government chairmanship election.
Factnews recalls that APGA had in a statement issued on the Oct. 8th, 2016, listed conditions for participating in the forthcoming council poll.
The statement which was signed by the State party Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere frowned at the suddenness of the arrangements which it says might impede the effectiveness, the transparency and the participation of both the contestants and the voters.
APGA also argued that ABSIEC's decision to commence the election on the 17th of December  and hold possible Run Offs on the 28th of December negates the sensitivity of Abians who are mostly adherents of the Christian faith who attach great religious importance to Christmas and would possibly be in their respective home towns to celebrate the Christmas during the time under review.
The party further condemned  ABSIEC's decision to collect the sum of  Five Hundred Thousand Naira  (500,000) from Chairmanship candidates ,  Two Hundred Thousand Naira (200, 000) from Councilorship Candidates , and Fifteen Thousand  Naira administrative fee even when the possible candidates would have paid for their nomination forms to their respective political parties.
Below are the names of successful candidates as announced by the party
