Gov. Ikpeazu Gives University Scholarships to Best 2015/2016 WAEC Students

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has given university scholarships to the six best outstanding students in the 2015/2016 West African Examinations Council, WAEC. 
While Dorithy International School, Aba produced four of the six candidates, Marist Juniorate Secondary School, Uturu and Britach International School, Umuahia produced one each.

Also, the best Secondary schools in the three senatorial zones of the state, we're named. They include Dorithy International School, Aba, Abia South, Marist Juniorate Secondary School, Uturu, Abia North and Britach International School, Umuahia for Abia Central.

The Governor also announced that ultra modern science laboratories would be built in all the seventeen local government areas of the state, to encourage learning output.
He called on teachers and students to work together to improve learning outcome.

While congratulating the students for their sterling performance in the Examinations, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu called on parents to inculcate in their children the true virtues and values of an Abian which is resilience and hard work.

The Governor was speaking at the 2016 Independence Day Interactive Session between Abia school children and him, and the official opening of the library for public use, held at the Electronic Library complex, Umuahia.

The Librarian, Pearl Solomon in her address noted that the Electronic Library is fully equipped with digital learning software and hardware,E- learning facility,and has over E-learning books that covers all fields of human endeavor.

She noted that the E-Library would among other things provide fully equipped computer based testing centre with 600 workstations for Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, full ICT training services from cradle to adulthood, business centre with optic fiber Internet services and Ultra Modern 247 emergency call centre.

The event was attended by top government functionaries.
