DEAR UCHE OGAH, IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO TURN BACK.

Dear Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, I bring you greetings this morning.

I want to believe that by now, you have fully read and digested the words of the Court of Appeal in their judgment in the case that you instituted against Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

I am sure you know that should you choose to go to the Supreme Court, the outcome will not be different. I wager that if you take this same case to any other court anywhere, you will get the same outcome as the considered judgment of the Court of Appeal.

My dear brother, you see, unlike others, I know you knew that you wouldn't win at the Court of Appeal or any other court for that matter. You were not banking on Appeal. Your entire gambit was targeted towards getting that judgment from Justice Okon Abang, getting INEC to issue you a Certificate of Return and getting sworn in as Governor immediately. Your haste in getting sworn in without waiting for the Court of Appeal was because you knew fully well that the Court of Appeal would upturn Justice Abang's strange ruling. You had banked on getting sworn in then frustrating the Appeal process ad infinitum.

But because God remains God and did not allow you to think through your plan to the end, He did not allow you tidy up the swearing in aspect of your coup with the attendant result that you got the judgment you sought, got the Certificate of Return but you could not conclude the coup by getting sworn in. God be praised.

Dear sir, it is not too late to come out of this looking good. Now that your gambit has unravelled, before any further damage to your reputation, my advice to you would be to reach out to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and offer him your hand of fellowship. I have already conclusively dealt with the damage your distraction is causing Abia state in my last letter to you so no need going into that again. Salvage whatever is left of your reputation, save everybody this stress and end this charade here.

Do not listen to those urging you to proceed to the Supreme Court. They're in it for what they'll get. They need this crisis to continue so that they can justify what they'll collect from you maka na ala adiginma wu uru ndi nze.

I hasten to state as a lawyer that your right to appeal to the Supreme Court is inalienable but because we both know that you have no case and the game is up, I urge you to listen to that small voice in your head and reach out to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

If, like the fly intent on following the corpse to the grave, you however choose to stubbornly keep up the charade and continue to the Supreme Court, I can only hope that you'll be able to live with yourself afterwards knowing that you singlehandedly stagnated the progress of your state in pursuit of vainglorious inanities.

I hope reason prevails in the end.

Do have an introspective weekend.

Yours,

Sam Hart
