Traditional rulers of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom in Umuahia North LGA have said that the various litigations against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is inimical to the growth and development of Abia State.

To this end, the monarchs have advised those who dragged the Governor court to withdraw such cases in the interest of peace and in respect to the Abia Charter of Equity.

Speaking when they paid Governor Ikpeazu a solidarity visit  at Government House Umuahia, the Ibeku Council of traditional rulers through their chairman Eze Henry  Ezekiel described the Governor as "the authentic Governor of Abia State and pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to his administration.

The traditional rulers who cautioned that the state should not be dragged into a situation of chaos, advised those fighting against the Governor to join hands with him in taking the state to greater heights.

They urged Governor not to be deterred in his bid to give  Abians dividends of democracy.

Responding, Governor Ikpeazu who described their visit as remarkable said the Ibeku people laid the foundation for equity, justice and Fairplay in the history of the State and assured that he will defend the mandate given him by Abia people.

Ikpeazu regretted that those who want to forcefully take his mandate are doing so at the expense of peace and development currently enjoyed in the state urging them to have a rethink.

According to the Governor, he has sought various ways of making peace with Uche Ogah in the interest of the state but his peace moves were rebuffed.

Governor Ikpeazu who expressed confidence that the truth must prevail, called on the traditional rulers not to relent in their prayers for his administration and the state in general.
