Le Guen Rejects Eagles Job

Former Paris Saint German Coach, Paul Le Guen has rejected the appointment of the Nigeria Football Federation as head coach of the Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, says Frenchman, Paul Le Guen did not agree to the terms offered him to become the next technical adviser/head coach of the Super Eagles.
Chairman of the NFF’s Executive Committee, Christopher Green announced that the French national rejected the offer.
The official website of the NFF had reported that Le Guen had been named as the new Super Eagles helmsman by the technical and development committee of the football federation.
 Green explained that the Federation considered the best interest of the country before offering. He added that one of the conditions was that the new technical adviser would reside in Nigeria.
Green said the duty of a national team handler was beyond qualifying the Super Eagles but to develop Nigerian football as a whole.
The latest addition to the Dream VI team, Erhun Obanor has had his first training session with the Dream Team VI.
Ahead of their next warmup game against Honduras, the Under 23 team trained with seventeen players.
Kingsley Madu, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Daniel Akpeyi will join the team between 22nd to 24th July.

Meanwhile Coach Samson Siasia is allowed to name 22 players for the Olympic Games, with four players placed on standby.

Wikki Tourists failed to regain leadership of the Nigeria Professional Football League after they forced hosts Niger Tornadoes to a 1-1 draw in Lokoja. They are now placed second on the table having recorded 44 points from 26 matches, two points behind new leaders Enugu Rangers.
Rivers United was truly at home in Port Harcourt when they defeated Shooting Stars 2-0 only days after they eliminated the Ibadan club from the Federation Cup on penalties.
