Economic Upsurge Expected in Abia State as Hyundai Plans to Build Refinery at Owaza

A 250,000 BDP Refinery is about to be constructed in Owaza, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State by a Korean conglomerate, HYUNDAI.
“We are engaging with Hyundai to build a refinery at Owaza. The community is fully in support”; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu asserted through His twitter handle.
It is easy to understand why Owaza was chosen as it is an oil rich community with several productive oil wells.
Community heads of Owaza told the Governor that they have mapped out 20 hectares of land for the project.
Governor Ikpeazu while receiving His visitors at the Government House obligingly expressed how delighted he was for HYUNDAI to choose Abia for this all important project. He assured of the full support of the government and people of Abia State to this unique project which is the first of its kind by any foreign company in Nigeria.
