Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu Reinstates Commitment to Infrastructure Face-lift in Abia

Abia Governor,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has restated his commitment to give infrastructural facelift to Aba and other parts of the state.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this at a civic reception organized in his honour by the Aba la Ohazu people of Aba South Local Government Area at Abia state at the college of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba.

He said that he has held discussions with the Minister of Works aimed at rehabilitating federal roads in Aba and parts of the state and expressed the hope that soon the minister will be in the state to see things for himself.

The Governor disclosed that government is to establish the Aba urban Renewal agency to enhance infrastructural development in the city.

He used the forum to appeal to Aba residents to be patient with the government over the traffic jam at Aba Owerri road due to the rehabilitation work going on there, maintaining that soon the experience will be a thing of the past.

The Governor assured Aba people that he has their interest at heart and promised to serve Abians with the fear of God.

Earlier in their address read on their behalf by the commissioner for Education and chairman of the organizing committee, prof Ikechi Mgboji, the Aba la Ohazu people said they were impressed with the good job the Governor was doing in Aba especially in the area of road construction and urged him to pay attention to Omuma, Uratta, Ohanku, Obohia, Ngwa Road and Port Harcourt Road which lead to their communities.

They also pleaded with the Governor to see to it that the offices of elected and appointed chairman and Deputy chairman of Aba South LGA be given to the Aba la Ohazu people as they have qualified and loyal party members who could occupy the position.

In their separate remarks,the chairman, Aba South Traditional Rulers Council,Elder Emma Adaelu and sen Enyi Abaribe extolled the Governor for the good job he was doing in the state and implored him trust in God as well as to give the Aba la Ohazu people a sense of belonging
