The National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) has said it would clamp down on orientation camps found to be unsuitable for orientation of corps members.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier Gen. Johnson Olawumi, gave the warning at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Batch ‘A’ Pre-Orientation Workshop in Katsina.

In a statement  by his Director of Public Relations, Abosede Aderibigbe, said the facilities in some camps were not only appalling, but also unfit for human habitation.

He said the Scheme is already considering not hosting orientation course in two states due to their poor and dilapidated camp facilities.

Aderibigbe reminded state governments that the provision and maintenance of orientation camp facilities are their statutory responsibilities, urging them to pay more attention to that.
