The body of a dead patient tested positive for Ebola in northern Sierra Leone, just hours after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared West Africa Ebola-free.

Two tests were carried out on the body from Tonkolili district by UK medical experts before confirming the case on Friday.

The deceased patient, a 22-year-old woman, was attending school when she fell sick and returned home to her parents in the city of Magburaka.

Health workers say the virus was recently contracted by the deceased.

WHO officials have sent out its team to the area to search for the people, who were in contact with the victim.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone was declared Ebola-free on November 7th, 2015.

The entire West Africa Nation was declared free on January 14th, 2016, before latest reports by the WHO
