Top PDP Members Defect To APC

There have been high profile political defections in the South East states of Enugu and Anambra States.
In Enugu state, Former Governor Jim Nwaobodo and former Senator Fidelis Okiro over the weekend defected from PDP to APC.
Reports say the two politicians announced their defection at a meeting in Enugu convened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Jeffery Onyeama.
Chief Nwaobodo explained that his action was to reintegrate the people of Enugu, to be able to share from Federal Government resources.
In Awka, Anambra, Mrs Uche Ekwunife who represents Anambra Central District also defected from PDP to APC.
Ekwunife who announced her defection to newsmen in Akwa explained that her action was because of the inability of PDP to organize a primary election in her senatorial district.
The Court of Appeal had nullified her election and ordered a fresh election in 90 days.
It is believed that her movement to APC is to enable her participate in the re-run election for Anambra Central Senatorial District.
