NNPC To Buy Petroleum Products Direct From Credible Sources

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, in a bid to ensure transparency and deal with middle men in the purchase of petroleum products, says it will begin the purchase of petroleum products directly from credible international sources.
Spokesman of the corporation, Ohi Alegbe said the 11 offshore processing arrangement (OPA) options needs to be replaced with more efficient Direct Sale Purchase (DSDP) alternative.
According to him, the decision was taken following the evaluation of pre-qualified bidders which showed that about 44 companies shortlisted earlier for the next stage of the tender process had a toll in the valve chain.
