We'll Swim, Sink With Oliseh – NFF

Nigeria football federation, Amaju Pinnick has reaffirmed that the appointment of the former super eagle’s captain,Sunday Oliseh was not a mistake. He added that the NFF has full confidence Oliseh would deliver results.

Oliseh was appointed in July after Coach Stephen Keshi for job hunting. The appointment of Oliseh attracted mixed reactions, but Pinnick insisted that Oliseh was Nigeria’s own version of Pep Guardiola.

He also argued that Oliseh has proved that he was worthy of his appointment as coach of the national team.

Pinnick also submitted that the NFF was bent on hiring a foreign coach after Keshi was shown the exit door, but a news article on Oliseh informed NFF’s decision to bring him on board.

Nigeria’s 2013 FIFA under 17 world cup winning coach, Nanu Garba, has rallied behind the Golden Eaglet’s quest for a successful Defence of their title at the forth coming global cadet championship in Chile.

Nigeria holds the enviable record of four titles in the category with victories in 1985, 1993, 2007 and 2013, with Garba instrument to the last two success campaigns.

Meanwhile the golden eaglets continued with their preparation ahead of the world cup with a 10- 1 win against Beautiful Tour FC of Abuja on FridayFriday’s win took golden eaglets’ goal tally to an impressive 194 in 58 domestic and international matches.

The Nigeria football federation will on Wednesday honor the late Super Eagles Midfielder, Samuel Okwaraji by displaying his portrait round the eight venues of the federation cup, Quarter-Finals in Enugu Benin City, Neros Stadium, Oleh, Lokoja, Abuja, Ilorin and Makurdi. President of NFF, Amaju Pinncik has praised the patriotism and Professionalism of Okwaraji, who died on August the 12th, 1989, while playing for Nigeria in a 1990 FIFA world cup qualifying match against Angola at the National Stadium, Lagos.

Meanwhile, Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu’s quest to succeed outgoing FIFA President Sepp Blatter seems to be generating excitement as Nigeria Football Federation appears reluctant to be drawn into declaring support for him.

Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick said the matter would be discussed by the Executive Committee of the NFF.

Meanwhile, NFF Ambassador, John Fashanu has thrown his weight behind the former governor’s ambition for FIFA Presidency, noting that Kalu has the competence to lead the world soccer governing body.

In Athletics, Nigeria’s representatives to the International Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF, World Championship will depart the country for Beijing, China on August the 18th. The championship is scheduled for August the 22nd to 30th in Beijing, and 14 women and three men would jostle for laurels on behalf of the country at the event.
