Gov. Amosun dissolves cabinet

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state on Monday dissolved the State Executive Council barely four days to the expiration of the administration.

Those affected in the dissolution include the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Commissioners, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Special Advisers, Consultants and the Personal Assistants.

Addressing the last executive council meeting inside the council chamber in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Amosun thanked all the political appointees for their support, cooperation and devotion to the accomplishment of the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State.

He commended them for being part of the victorious team that has laid the good foundation for a new Ogun state.

He added that posterity will be kind to them for their hard work as he prayed that God should bless all the outgoing members and grant them success in their future endeavours.

During the meeting, the outgoing political appointees took turn to relate their experiences in the last four years.

They thanked the governor for the opportunity given to them to serve their state.

Meanwhile, all the outgoing officials have been advised to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments and agencies.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun first term in office will come to an end on Friday but he will be sworn in for the second term in office.

There are feelers that about 60 per cent of the outgoing political appointees will return.
