The Abia State government has debunked rumours of the cancellation of the National Assembly results of March 28 by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
This is coming with reports making rounds that the Abia State Independent National Electoral Commission have reversed the result, allegedly said to be championed by the opposition, following the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party of the three senatorial seats in the state.

Speaking through the Commission for Information, ACB Agbazuere, the state noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, do not have the power to reverse result after it has been announced, as it has become "funtus officio" according to law.
Agbazuere urged those aggrieved with the result to emulate President Goodluck Jonathan or head to the tribunal in accordance with Section 133(1) of the electoral act as amended.
He enjoined Abians to come out en masse tomorrow April 11 to cast their ballot.
