INEC insists on the use of Card Readers;deploys ballot papers to states

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has insisted on the use of card readers at the general elections of March 28 and April 11.
Chairman of the Commission,Prof. Attahiru Jega, at a meeting with political parties, noted that sensitive and non sensitive materials especially the ballot papers have been deployed to the 36 States of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, while most of the sensitive materials are at the Central Bank of Nigeria's vault.

Jega,who also presented samples of the ballot boxes and prototype of the ballot papers to the parties, stated that the military will not be used at the elections, except on emergency situations. He urged political parties to educate their members and supports aright, as any ballot paper dropped in the wrong box will be counted as invalid.

The INEC boss, enjoined political parties to desist from heating up the polity with their utterances, insisting that the electoral umpire is ready to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.
He however, revealed that the military are on top of their game to provide a peaceful and safe environment for the polls.
