A bomb blast at a bus station in the northeast Nigerian city of Gombe has killed at least 20 people and wounded 18.

A Red Cross report reveal that those injured have been taken to state teaching hospital.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility of the attack, though the Islamist sect is suspected to be responsible.

The bomb was said to have been planted near a bus that was filling up with passengers at about 10:50am.

This is the second time such attack on the city's public transport system is taking place.
A bomb attack at a bus station killed 10 people at the end of October in the city.

Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly set off bombs targeting, especially in the northeast, where they are trying to carve out an Islamist state.

The attack by the sect has become the gravest security threat to Nigeria
